Lucia Delkhoshnavaz, Watercolourist

United Kingdom

Three years ago, I sat with a friend while she watched a DVD on watercolour techniques and was fascinated by what I was seeing.  I found it amazing.

I have always loved watercolour, but always said I could not draw or paint to save my life.  After watching this DVD, I felt inspired to go out and buy a small brush and small pan set...that was it...I was hooked.

The magic of water and pigment moving across the white paper is so exciting, every soft gentle stroke leaving its wonderful mark still excites me.  I am self-taught and learning all the time.  We never stop learning.

My favourite subject is whatever makes my heart miss a beat.  When I look at something and see its inner or outer beauty, I have to try and capture that beauty.  Sometimes I feel I succeed.
