Cassie, Watercolourist

Australia

Favourite mediums - watercolours and sketching with graphite and coloured pencils.

I have spent a lifetime enjoying many crafts, including porcelain doll making.  During retirement I wanted to learn how to paint with watercolours, and because of my mobility restrictions was unable to travel via public transport.  I am very happy to say that I discovered Peter Saw's Paint Doodles website and purchased his CD, called Interactive Watercolour, and have enjoyed this wonderful journey.  I can highly recommend this CD for beginners and those who want to develop their talents.

I will try most subjects, excluding perspective, and spend many happy hours experimenting with monoliths, where I place thick watercolour on a piece of glass or perspex and then press wet watercolour paper - preferably 300gms HP (Hot Press) - over the colour and move around until satisfied with the results (various patterns).  Also, I am very keen to learn sketching with graphite pencils.
